Unread, spine still crackles, and for purposes of collation, just out of the kraft paper in which they've been bound since being printed in 1971. Bound in simple white stiff paper wraps, title and author in relief to front cover. Measures 9 1/5" x 6 1/2". W. & G. Baird, Ltd. printed this Special Limited Edition of 3000 copies for Canada Delta, the publisher (and journal title) that Dudek established back in the mid-'50s. Louis Dudek (February 6, 1918 – March 23, 2001) was a Canadian poet, academic, and publisher "known for his role in defining Modernism in poetry," according to his Wikipedia entry, and for his literary criticism and role in founding literary journals, authoring in the process over two dozen. He was the author of over two dozen books. In A Digital History of Canadian Poetry, writer Heather Prycz said that "As a critic, teacher and theoretician, Dudek influenced the teaching of Canadian poetry in most [Canadian] schools and universities."
